From spring onwards, Minorite Friary in Prague comes alive with unusual musical performances, not only for adults,
but also for children. The MINORITE CULTURAL AND MUSIC FESTIVAL offers a year-round series of subscription concerts, complemented by educational events for children from 0 years of age, organized in cooperation with the Philharmonic.
Classical music knows no age, language, or other barriers. The year-round subscription cycle of six concerts combining musical, cultural, and social experiences in the extraordinary setting of the Minorite Monastery in Prague opened on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Helas Ladies Club with the first concert, "The Magic of the Pan Flute," performed by Petr Tomeček, a professional player of the pan flute, the oldest musical instrument in the world and the predecessor of the organ. The April concert included a rich program connected with the celebrations. As is tradition, pleasant tasting experiences were provided by the Máláník – Osička Winery, Jana Kolrusová from the Dandelion roastery and café, the Stáňa Hraštice Bakery and Confectionery, and Marmelinda.
Petr Tomeček also accompanied the musical performance with his commentary, explaining how he was enchanted by the tones of this ancient musical instrument and how this led him to become a professional pan flute player. On the same day, even the youngest listeners were able to enjoy the musical experience at a concert organized in cooperation with the Philharmonic. Seventy young children gathered here, ranging from babies to four- and five-year-olds.
This concept also includes very young children who enjoy music accompanied by their parents or grandparents. The organizers of these events for children believe that professional cultural experiences can be enjoyed together with even the youngest children. They organize classical music concerts for parents and young children from birth to school age. This time, the children and their companions had the opportunity to listen to the Gaudioso Wind Quartet. Marta Bílá (oboe), Simona Vaňková (clarinet), Nikola Květoňová (flute), and Lucie Libichová(bassoon) performed well-known compositions by Bedřich Smetana and other contemporary Czech composers, all against the backdrop of 800 years of history.
The year-round subscription series of six concerts combining musical, cultural, and social experiences in the extraordinary setting of the Minorite Monastery in Prague offers a unique opportunity to meet performers and distinguished guests, as well as to view ongoing art exhibitions and displays in the historic monastery premises.
Subscription membership offers an exclusive intimate atmosphere and the opportunity to meet distinguished guests. The one-time ticket price is CZK 1,550. There is a significant discount for individual and corporate subscription cycles.
